Platform Comparison
Why we use Astro for local business websites.
Your website should make it easy to understand your service and take the next step. Astro gives us a flexible base for that work. WordPress and Wix can also be good choices, depending on how your team edits and runs its site.
What changes with each platform
These are platform features and tradeoffs. Actual speed depends on the finished site and should be measured.
Astro can build pages before a visitor arrives. Its components add no browser JavaScript by default, with interactive features added where needed.
A static page does not need a database to display its content. Forms, booking tools, accounts, and software updates still need care.
We focus on clear service pages, useful content, and an easy path to booking. Performance tests help identify what needs work.
| Feature | Six20AM (Astro) | WordPress | Wix | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Page delivery | Pages can be built ahead of time | Caching can serve ready-made pages | Managed hosting with a global CDN | Images, scripts, hosting, and page design all affect actual speed. |
| Editing content | Custom editing workflow | Built-in content editor | Visual site editor | Choose an editing process that fits the people who will use it. |
| Hosting options | Static files can move between hosts | Can run on a compatible host | Site runs on Wix hosting | Hosting choice and content ownership are separate questions. |
| Code and content rights | Code rights set by your agreement | Open-source core; review theme and plugin terms | Your content; site uses Wix services | Review the project agreement and third-party terms before planning a move. |
| Ongoing care | Dependencies and integrations need care | Core, themes, and plugins need care | Wix manages platform updates | Every site needs content checks, account security, and working forms. |
| A useful fit | Custom sites focused on content | Teams that publish and use plugins | Teams that want a hosted visual builder | The right choice depends on your content, budget, and workflow. |

Measure real pages
Large images, videos, and outside scripts can slow any website. We use page tests to find issues and check the mobile experience. A framework alone cannot promise a fixed load time or search position.
How PageSpeed Insights measures performancePlan for ongoing care
Static delivery removes the need to build each page from a database on every visit. It does not make a site immune to security issues. Hosting access, form handling, third-party tools, and software dependencies still need attention.
Build useful landing pages
Google Ads Quality Score helps diagnose ad relevance, expected clicks, and landing page experience. It is not an auction input. Changing platforms does not set your score or earn a fixed discount on clicks.
